At the age of  ten I competed for the first time. Since then I kept on climbing and improved steadily in the competitions. In 2006 I became national youth champion for the first time. The year after I became part of the Dutch national team, which meant I was allowed to compete internationally as well. A whole new world opened up in front of me. A world full of strong climbers, with whom I started training and who became close friends. I started dreaming about how amazing it would be to be able to compete against the best in the international youth competitions, to make it to the podium, to make finals in a Worldcup or even win one. Every time a dream comes true it is replaced by a new one. In this way, the competitions really give me a goal, not only in climbing, but in my life in general. This goal always keeps me going and motivated to work as hard as possible to achieve it. I have been travelling around the world to compete first in the European Youth Cups and the World Youth Championships and now in the Worldcups and World Championships. In this way climbing has become a lifestyle which gives me many amazing experiences.
